1. The Intel World Open
Date: July 22 – July 24, 2020
In 2020, Intel is partnering with the Olympics to hold an esports tournament for Rocket League and Street Fighter V in Tokyo. Online national team qualifiers will be held in early 2020. There will also be a live qualifying event in Katowice, Poland in June 2020.
The Intel World Open Championships will take place in Tokyo just ahead of the Summer Olympics on July 22-24, 2020.
2. Overwatch Grand Finals
Grand Finals: September 29, 2020
The Overwatch League 2020 season begins and Feb 8th, and runs through Aug 9th. Many games will be played at each team’s home stadium this year. Keep an eye out for the Overwatch League Mid-Season Tournament which has some huge cash prizes, as well as the All-Star Game featuring the top individual players in the league. The Grand Finals will be held in Philadelphia, Pa.

3. Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2020
Date: February 28 – March 01, 2020
Tune in to the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2020 to watch the best in CS:GO and StarCraft II go at it live. The annual tournament will be held from Feb 28th through Mar 1st, 2020 in Katowice, Poland. Despite their age, CS:GO and StarCraft II still draw huge crowds, making the IEM a fun tournament to watch.
4. Twitch Rivals Streamer Bowl
Date: January 30, 2020
Twitch and Epic Games are teaming up for the Twitch Rivals Streamer Bowl in 2020 to host a Fortnite duos tournament with $500k in prizes. Fortnite pros team up with star NFL players in what is sure to be an entertaining event. Don’t miss your chance to watch it live on Jan 30th, 2020.
5. League of Legends Worlds
Date: TBA
League of Legends will be holding the 10th World Championship tournament in Shanghai in 2020. The 2019 LOL Worlds was reportedly the most watched esports event ever, so expectations are high for this venerable esports giant.
6. Hearthstone Masters Tour
Date: January 31 – February 02, 2020
Hearthstone is one of the biggest names in the card game esports world. In 2020 Blizzard will hold both a Masters Tour and a Global Grand Masters Championship. According to playhearthstone.com the Masters Tour will have events in Arlington, Va from Jan 31-Feb 2, in Indonesia March 19-22, and in a yet-to-be-determined venue in Europe.
7. PUBG Global Championship 2020
Date: November, 2020
PUBG Global Series 2020 will consist of 3 regional 32-Team Qualifying Events in April, July, and October. The Global Championship will take place in November 2020.
Without PUBG, games like Fortnite and Apex Legends probably wouldn’t exist, so pay your respects to the godfather of the battle royale genre and tune in to the PUBG Global Championship this year.
8. Blizzcon 2020

There are no details announced yet, but every year Blizzcon is one of the biggest events in gaming. Expect Blizzcon 2020 to hold the Overwatch World Cup, StarCraft II Championships, and WOW Arena Tournament, to name a few. Blizzcon is usually held at the end of the year, so check this space for new details in the upcoming months.
9. Capcom Cup 2020
Date: Multiple dates, check schedule.
Capcom Pro Tour (CPT) is switching up their schedule this year, and they’re also replacing regional finals with the World Warriors Challenge. Capcom hopes this will give more players world-wide a chance to qualify for the Capcom Cup. European fans will be pleased to learn that Capcom Cup 2020 will be held in Paris this year.
10. Fortnite World Cup
Date: TBA
There hasn’t been any official word yet on a World Cup for Fortnite Season 2, but given the success of 2019’s tournament it’s a pretty safe guess that Epic Games is going to have an equally large event in 2020.
The 2019 Fortnite World Cup was the largest esports event in the world, continuing the game’s esports dominance.
11. The International
Date: August 20-25, 2019
As reported on esportsobserver, The 2020 International will be held in Stockholm, Sweden. The International is still one of the biggest events on the esports calendar, despite DOTA 2 giving ground to Fortnite in esports popularity. 2020 will mark the 10th anniversary of the DOTA 2 tournament, and will also be the first time since 2011 that it will be held in Europe.
12. Call of Duty League Championship

The only surprise here is that it took so long for Activision’s insanely popular MMO/FPS to get an official league. The COD League is sure to draw in big-name players and will offer plenty of excitement. The League will host a playoff event culminating in a Championship Weekend with a date/location still TBD.
13. FIFA eWorld Cup 2020
Date: TBA
According to FIFA.com, during Global Series 2020 Gamers can qualify in online competitions for entrance into regional live events. Gamers at the live events earn Global Series Ranking Points, and the 128 top-ranking players will earn a spot in the playoffs.
The uber-popular sports franchise is sure to continue its global dominance in 2020, lining EA’s pockets with cash once again.
